Parliamentary Committee: The Health Insurance Act is a commercial project funded by the "Citizen's Pocket"
Health and environment committee member Saleh al-Hasnawi confirmed on Tuesday that the health insurance law had been returned to the government because he was converting the government-sponsored health sector to Tejari.
"The health insurance law was returned to the Council of Ministers, because it is a law that turns the state-sponsored health sector into a commercial health sector and is paid out of the citizen's pocket," Hasnawi told Al-Ghad Press.

He pointed out that his committee "had a position on the law, because health is guaranteed to every citizen in the Constitution," noting that "Article 30 II states that the state guarantees the citizen in his illness, and thus to abandon its responsibilities is a major crime.
"The bill of health insurance, which came from the government can not be amended at all," adding that "there is a bill to be submitted by the Presidency of the Republic, and a draft proposal to the House of Representatives."
"The health committee of the parliamentary does not allow the privatization of the health sector and the abandonment by the State of its responsibilities in support of Iraqi citizens to health institutions."
