Gold fell on Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of meetings of three major central banks, amid anticipation for the appointment of the next chairman of the Federal Reserve. The market is awaiting signs from meetings of the US Federal Reserve Board of Banks and the Bank of England in central Japan this week.
Spot gold fell 0.3 percent to $ 1269.23 an ounce by 0724 GMT.
Gold futures lost 0.1 percent to $ 1270.10 an ounce. Among other precious currencies, silver lost 0.7 percent to $ 16.72 an ounce.
Platinum fell 0.2 percent to $ 912.70 an ounce, while palladium climbed 0.4 percent to $ 969.22 an ounce.
