The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee on Sunday called on the government to prevent US intervention in the country's internal affairs, revealing an American approach to support the Kurds without the approval of the Iraqi government.
"The security agreement between Iraq and Washington provides for non-interference in Iraq's internal affairs and this has not been implemented by the United States and its intervention is clear and the most recent of which is the presence of its forces in Kirkuk," said Iskandar and Tut.
He added that "America is trying by various means to push for intervention in all large and small in Iraq," asserting "there is an American trend to support the Kurds without the consent of the Iraqi government."
"We call on the central government to announce its position on US interference in internal affairs and respect for the security agreement."
