The failure of the reconstruction conference in Kuwait will be a major blow to Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, the politically weakest, the New York Times said.
"This strike may end its political future, despite the victory in the face of a" push. "This failure has undermined years of efforts by the United States and others to stabilize Iraq and fight extremism there.
Western diplomats have warned that the defeat of "Abadi" could plunge the country into a sectarian conflict that could tear it apart. At the same time, Abadi continues to lose the support of Sunnis and other sects. Iraqi officials from Sunni areas of political importance, as well as minority leaders, criticized the list of reconstruction projects highlighted by Abadi ministers at the conference to ignore their communities and needs.
