A member of the parliamentary security committee, Shakhwan Abdullah, said on Sunday that Iraq has concluded a contract with Russia to buy a missile system.
"We are at the door of the 2018 budget legislation and did not include allocations to the Ministry of Defense for the size of such a deal," Abdullah told Twilight News.
"We have suffered a lot from holding arms deals with Russia, which was concluded in the past years, including the poor quality of weapons, and there is a great corruption in some others."
"After the US forces enter Iraq and even after they leave the security agreement, he is not free enough to make arms purchases without concurrence and careful study," Abdullah said.
