MP on the Liberal bloc, Mazen al-Mazni, said Monday that voting on the law of the National Oil Company "a major achievement and the preservation of wealth."
Al-Mazni said in a press statement: "The vote on the law of the National Oil Company is a major achievement and conservation of national wealth and give a percentage of rights to the Iraqi people." He pointed out that "this proposal is wanted by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Mr. Moqtada al-Sadr."
Al-Mazni added: "We hoped the deputies to name the company the name of the economic province of Iraq (Basra), and we will work to amend this law."
The House of Representatives voted on Monday on the National Oil Company's proposed law.
