The former al-Qa'af al-Sadoun revealed on Sunday the reason for the spread of US combat forces and the tightening of the security guard on the US embassy inside the Green Zone in downtown Baghdad.
"The arrival of military reinforcements to the US embassy inside the Green Zone in downtown Baghdad is not limited to protecting the embassy building only from being subjected to possible storming by demonstrators, but to manage new scenarios to enter the country with a new political crisis," Saadoun said in a statement. That "Washington is seeking to put some of the protesters within peaceful demonstrations to enter the demonstrators clash with the security forces."
He added that "a number of political actors are trying to support the US dragged the demonstrations to settle partisan accounts without achieving the demands of the demonstrators to provide jobs and services," adding that "the US embassy in Baghdad is witnessing tight security and heavy military deployment around the building."
