Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has expressed his country's readiness to start negotiations with the United States over a new nuclear deal if Washington re-examines the 2015 agreement.

In an interview with USA Today, Zarif said on Monday that negotiations would be possible "if there is a basis for a constructive dialogue."

"Mutual trust is not a necessary condition for the start of negotiations, but the necessary condition is mutual respect," he said. "Mutual respect begins with the respect, signature and word of the party."

The Iranian minister said that the current US administration "does not believe in diplomacy but believes in the imposition of (will)."

Commenting on Washington's return on Monday to sanctions imposed on the United States before the United States signed it before Iran signed a nuclear deal with the international community in 2015, Zarif questioned whether Trump could achieve its economic objectives through this measure. It is absolutely impossible to achieve their political goals through sanctions. "

The Iranian minister pointed out that the nuclear agreement was approved by the United Nations, so the US authorities, by insisting on the accession of other countries to its sanctions imposed on Iran, the international community in fact to violate international laws.

The announcement of imposing the latest wave of sanctions on Tehran, as promised by the administration of US President Donald Trump after the withdrawal of the United States on May 8 last year of the joint comprehensive plan of action, the agreement, concluded in 2015, between the international community (represented by States The six intermediaries, including Russia and the United States) and Iran, aimed at restricting Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for lifting international sanctions and unilateral European and American restrictions on Iran.
