Al-Ghanim: It is necessary to demarcate the border and resolve the file of Khor Abdullah so that Satan does not enter between us

BAGHDAD / The head of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mohammed Al Halbusi stressed on the importance of activating trade exchange with Kuwait and the establishment of a joint free zone, while his Kuwaiti counterpart Marzouq Al-Ghanim called for resolving the Khawr Abdullah file for navigation and demarcation of the border between the two countries.
Halbusi's remarks came during a press conference after the visit of his guest to Baghdad.
"We represent the people and push forward the governments," Halaboussi said, noting that he discussed with al-Ghanim the outcome of the donor conference held in Kuwait.
"Kuwait has always supported the position of the Iraqi government in the war on terror," he said.
Halabousi also stressed the importance of activating joint trade between the two countries. "We talked with Al-Ghanim on the activation of trade exchange and the importance of establishing joint free zones," he said.
"There are outstanding issues that must be resolved in a way that does not affect the sovereignty of the two countries," he said, adding that there must be real partnerships that reflect positively on the two peoples.
He said that "the activation of joint trade, both in terms of free zones or intra-trade is important to be between the Gulf States and Europe and the activation of railways."
He pointed to the importance of the geographical location of the two countries and said that this important factor "must invest in a real way."
"We discussed the investment procedures facilities for companies and investors."
He also pointed out that there is great interest from Kuwait to support Iraq to close the file of the displaced.
For his part, Al-Ghanim in Baghdad stressed the importance of resolving the file Khor Abdullah navigation.
