Electricity: The volume of energy in the coming summer will be the highest in the history of Iraq

The Ministry of Electricity, on Wednesday, that the volume of energy next summer will be the highest in the history of Iraq, indicating that Iraq currently imports about 28 million cubic feet of gas per day.
"The ministry's goal during the summer is to provide about 18,000 megawatts, so that the volume of energy in summer is the highest in the history of Iraq," the official newspaper Al-Sabah said, quoting ministry spokesman Musab al-Mudar.
The teacher added that "the volume of energy demand in Iraq is increasing annually by 7%, which requires the addition of 1000 megawatts annually," noting that "the ministry has developed plans to improve this reality during the next few years."
"Iraq currently imports about 28 million cubic feet of gas a day, which feed a number of stations to generate about 2800 MW," he said, adding that he hoped that "these quantities will increase by the beginning of June to reach 35 million cubic feet Standard daily to raise the production capacity to three thousand and 500 megawatts. "
