    Today, Monday (November 4, 2024),  Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari discussed  with his Iranian counterpart, Iskandar Momeni,  in Tehran, the common files between the two countries.
    The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that " Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari arrived  this morning, Monday, and the accompanying delegation, which included a number of advisors, general managers, and the official spokesman for the ministry, to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on an official visit, in response to an invitation he received, to discuss a number of files of common interest between the two neighboring countries."
    The statement added, "Al-Shammari met with his Iranian counterpart, Iskandar Momeni, and congratulated him on assuming the position of Minister of Interior in Iran. He discussed with him a number of files, most notably the Arbaeen pilgrimage, securing the common borders, and the memorandum of understanding between the two countries, in addition to various topics, including training, exchange of expertise, and the axis of students sent to Iran for the purpose of academic security studies.  Topics related to the work of traffic and passports were also discussed." 
    For his part, the Iranian Interior Minister, according to the statement, "thanked the Iraqi Interior Minister, appreciating the great efforts made by the Iraqi Interior Ministry in combating drugs and crime in all its forms, and working to enhance security, praising the successes achieved by it and the progress made in its work at various levels, and greatly welcoming the subject of joint cooperation between the two countries."
