    Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, announced today, Monday (November 4, 2024), that the Commission’s Comprehensive Service Department has completed a number of important projects with the aim of spreading communications and information technology services in remote areas, as part of the Commission’s efforts to eliminate the digital divide in Iraq and expand the scope of communication in rural communities and remote areas.
    Al-Muayyad confirmed in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that "Dhi Qar Governorate witnessed the implementation of 10 projects serving 9,200 subscribers, while Wasit Governorate witnessed the implementation of 9 projects providing services to 10,500 subscribers, which enhances digital communication coverage in remote areas. In Diwaniyah Governorate, 8 projects were implemented to serve 7,050 subscribers, while Diyala Governorate witnessed the implementation of 7 projects that benefited 6,380 subscribers."
    He added, "The projects in Anbar Governorate included the implementation of 6 projects to serve 1,405 subscribers, while Kirkuk Governorate witnessed the implementation of 5 projects to serve 3,400 subscribers, and in Salah al-Din Governorate, 4 projects were completed to serve 5,975 subscribers, while two projects were implemented in Muthanna Governorate, benefiting 1,000 subscribers, and finally, Karbala Governorate witnessed the implementation of one project to serve 3,500 subscribers."
    The Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission stated that “this achievement comes within the Commission’s strategy to provide communications services to all regions, which contributes to supporting digital development, achieving comprehensive communication, and enabling remote communities to access modern digital services and information technologies.”
