Jumaili calls for amending the amnesty law

MP asked for the coalition of the Iraqi decision, unity Jumaili, the House of Representatives amending the law of amnesty General, appeal to the National Security Council to urge to accelerate it.
"We call on the House of Representatives to amend the amnesty law, in particular Article 9, which provides for the re-investigation and the judicial impeachment in order to get the innocent prisoners out," MP Jamili said in a statement.
"A public amnesty is not an amnesty for innocent people, but a general amnesty is to bring down the curtain to those who committed the crime with ignorance," she said.
"Today we demand amending the amnesty law so that innocent people can be released from prison," she said.
Al-Jumaili pointed out that "this is our demand from the House of Representatives and the National Security Council and the government and the Prime Minister is to amend the article IX of the law amnesty is the re-investigation and judicial trial and then speed up the issues and ask him also the Supreme Judicial Council to expedite the resolution of the cases of detainees" .
"It is not permissible to detain the accused for more than 72 hours and this is a constitutional article. The detainee should not remain for years and then be released because of insufficient evidence."
