A member of the Committee for Monitoring Government Performance and Strategic Planning, Mohammed Al-Baladway, on Tuesday, that the telecommunications companies proved their failure over the past period and wasted public money, calling on the Ministry of Communications to invest an Iraqi national company.
Al-Baldawi told the National News Center NNC, "The poor services of telecommunications companies in Iraq are paid for by the citizen for weak and degraded service," noting that "the House of Representatives pointed out the poor communication service and the failure of companies to fulfill their obligations in terms of service in addition to not pay their funds".
He added that "the House of Representatives is continuing with the Ministry of Communications and the Media Authority to address the failure of telecommunications companies," noting that "the Ministry and the Authority have issued an ultimatum to companies and demanding compensation for poor services that exist."
Al-Baldawi stressed the "need to take deterrent measures against defective companies and improve their services and compensate citizens for poor Internet service."
Al-Baldawi called "the Ministry of Communications to invest national telecommunications companies in order to benefit the citizen and benefit the treasury of the state and restore the real role of the ministry, especially as there are important cadres in the ministry."
He noted that "the House of Representatives is going to legislate a law to combat cybercrime and this with the adoption of the Ministry of National Communications will provide good service to the citizen away from companies that have proven their failure and squandered public money."
