(Baghdad: Euphrates News) Member of the Council of Representatives Salam al-Shammari, on Wednesday, condemned what happened to the demonstrators, noting that the majority of them "demanding their legitimate rights in accordance with the law and the Constitution."
He said in a statement received (Euphrates News) a copy of it, that "the law and the Constitution ensured the Iraqis to demonstrate and express their opinion lawfully without departing from them to claim their rights."
Al-Shammari said that "what happened yesterday is strongly rejected and the government should investigate quickly and announce what happened. Indicating that what happened reflects an unfavorable picture of dealing with the claimants of their rights."
He stressed on the people "attention and caution to those who are trying to create hostility among them and their brothers from the security forces by carrying out attacks on demonstrators on the one hand and security forces on the other hand and carrying out acts of sabotage of public and private installations."
Al-Shammari said that "parliament will not let what happened yesterday passes without reaching clear results through its competent committees and disclosed to the people." is over
