    (Baghdad: Al Furat News) The American embassy in Baghdad strongly condemned the unfortunate and cowardly assassination of the correspondent of the Tigris satellite channel, Ahmed Abdul Samad, and the photographer Safaa Ghali in Basra yesterday, Friday ..
    [size=15][rtl][size=24]"The assassination, kidnapping, harassment and intimidation of media cadres and social media activists in favor of reform in Iraq by armed groups cannot continue without punishment," the embassy said in a statement, which {Euphrates News} received.[/rtl]

    [rtl]She added, "The Iraqi government is responsible for supporting the right of Iraqis to freedom of expression, protecting journalists and ensuring the ability of peaceful activists to exercise their democratic rights without fear of reprisal, and this can only be done by finding the perpetrators and bringing them to justice."[/rtl]
