, The Border Ports Authority announced, on Wednesday, the suspension of trade exchange between Iraq, Iran and Kuwait as part of measures to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus, while setting a deadline for the return of Iraqis from Iran.
In a statement, Mawazine News received a copy of it, the commission stated that "the cabinet formed the numbered committee (64) headed by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Hamid Al-Ghazzi, to take appropriate decisions regarding a mechanism to introduce Iraqis returning from abroad after subjecting them to preventive measures as well as clarifying the exchange mechanism Commercial. "
The committee added, "The committee includes in its membership a representative of the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Advisors Authority, the President of the Border Ports Authority Omar Al-Waeli, two general directors of the ministries of health, trade, transport, immigration and the displaced, in addition to the Deputy Commander of Baghdad Operations and the Joint Operations Command and the Director of Customs Police Operations, A representative of the National Operations Center, the director of air transport in the Civil Aviation Authority, the director of the veterinary quarry section of the Ministry of Agriculture, the official of the plant quarantine division of the Plant Protection Department and the public health department of the Ministry of Health. ”
He noted, "The meeting concluded with a set of decisions that included allowing Iraqis residing in Iran to return to Iraq until 3/15/2020 as a deadline for their return, and after this date they will be received at the airports of Baghdad and Basra airports, as it will allow the reception of Iraqi arrivals exclusively and arriving from Iran".
The meeting agreed to "stop the trade exchange between Iraq and the two neighbors, Iran and Kuwait, from the date of (8 to 3/15/2020). This closure comes in order to give the Ministry of Health an opportunity to reorganize it and create its preventive logistical requirements in addition to that there were popular claims embodied in official books. One of the governorates (Maysan, Basra, Diyala, and Wasit) is demanding that the ports be closed to limit the spread of this new epidemic.
And he decided, "Directing the provincial operations leadership to provide security support and protection to the border ports, and to confirm the decision of the Committee No. (55), which included preventing Iraqis from traveling to countries where infections were recorded with this virus, which would confirm the safety of the Iraqi citizen."
