Electricity promises to raise energy production from 17 to 22 thousand megawatts

The Ministry of Electricity announced raising the production of electric power from 17,000 megawatts to 22,000 next June.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, said that "the series of targeting the infrastructure of the electric power system continues," revealing that "the Mirsad-Diyala line (Yesterday, Monday) that transmits electric power was targeted by 400 kV."
The targeting of this line led to “determining the loads of the electrical system and its loss of approximately 480 megawatts, as it greatly affected the province of Diyala,” according to Moussa.
The targeting of electric energy infrastructure, according to Moussa, aims to “harm the citizens, since electricity is a vital resource to sustain the daily life of citizens and is in direct contact with them.”
The Ministry of Electricity appealed, through its official spokesman, to “all the security sectors holding the land, the operations leaders, and the ministries of interior and defense to secure the electricity infrastructure,” calling for “the installation of thermal cameras” near these towers, to avoid these attacks.
Ahmed Moussa said that targeting energy towers “is responsible for isolating the regions from each other, determining the loads of the concerned governorates and affecting the entire electric power system,” attributing the reason for this to the fact that “the power lines are connected to each other, and targeting them determines the loads of the system and leads to their decline.”
The ministry spokesman announced that “the target production of electric power in Iraq is 22,000 megawatts, and the production is now 17,000 megawatts,” adding that pending the stability of gas emissions supplied from Iran to production stations, “we will reach the ceiling of 22,000 megawatts early next June.”
