Planning: a small committee reviews the budget tracks and the file of salaries and protection is not linked to its approval

On Sunday, the Ministry of Planning reiterated that employee salaries, social protection and other expenses were not affected by the delay in approving the general budget law for the year 2021, while referring to a small committee studying its basics.
The technical representative of the Ministry of Planning, Maher Hammad Johan, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, and followed by "Economy News", that "the delay in the general budget for the year 2022 is due to many reasons related to the size of the details that were in it, in addition to the failure of the new parliament to convene; which prevents its submission and its decision in the parliament. Ministers".
He added that "there is a small strategic committee for preparing the budget that reviews the basic tracks of the budget, prepares them for the next government for a preliminary approval of the current government, and clarifies the spending tracks of revenues, expenditures and obligations."
He pointed out that "the Financial Management Law, with its recent amendments, granted great flexibility for life to go on at the level of the operating budget, or investment with the basic existing matters without confusion except in specific paragraphs."
He pointed out that there are no "fears of not approving the 2022 budget," noting that "the restriction on not approving the budget will be limited to limited paragraphs."
And he indicated, "The situation will continue at the level of expenses for salaries, social protection, health, and projects that are on the same track."
