Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Massoud Barzani welcomed a high-level delegation led by Nuri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law coalition, in Salah al-Din.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the results of the parliamentary elections that took place last October and the latest developments in the Iraqi political process.
The meeting also stressed the need to review governance in Iraq, benefit from past experiences, and consider the principles of partnership, settlement and balance in the governance process.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the challenges facing the future of Iraq, service issues, terrorist threats, environmental problems, water shortages, and citizens' demands. Continuing efforts were emphasized in which the views of the two parties were discussed to find an appropriate solution for the next stage and to overcome the challenges of forming a new Iraqi government. .
