    Earth News/ Today, Tuesday, Iraq and Iran stressed the importance of strengthening environmental work to achieve a sustainable environment in both countries.
    A ministry statement received by Earth News stated, "The Agency's Minister of Environment, Jassem Al-Falahi, met the Iranian Vice President and Head of the Environment Agency, Ali Salajani, on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations Environment Assembly in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi."
    The statement quoted Al-Falahi as stressing "the importance of strengthening joint work with the Iranian Environment Agency to achieve a sustainable environment in both countries."
    The statement added that "the meeting witnessed a discussion of the environmental situation in the two neighboring countries and how to enhance joint work and cooperation in all areas of the environment in line with international multilateral environmental agreements."
