Shafaq News/ The Minister of Electricity in Kurdistan Region, Kamal Muhammad Salih, confirmed on Tuesday that the energy supply to its beneficiaries has returned to normal as of this March, after the shortage that occurred due to the cold weather.
This came during a ceremony for the opening ceremony of a new electrical project in Shaqlawa by adding 8 feeders in the district station, at a financial cost of more than three and a half billion, which was implemented by Chandy's company.
The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, and a number of concerned officials.
In a speech during the opening ceremony, the minister stressed the importance of the project for the local population, and said: "According to the work program of the ninth formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government, we are trying to find a radical solution to the electricity problem, and for this purpose we have carried out several projects in the field of energy production and transmission."
He added that the success of any project in the field of electricity and the provision of services requires the cooperation of citizens.
The minister also indicated that due to the weather conditions during this year, we had to reduce the hours of power supply on the 21st of last January, and it decreased from 40 to 30 amperes per subscriber through the smart meter, but this was temporary and soon the processing hours returned to normal within a month. This March, stressing that the ministry provides subscribers with 12 hours a day from the national electricity network.
In turn, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, said that most of the electricity projects in the province have been implemented, calling for more attention to be paid to the various areas within the province's borders.
