    Today, Tuesday, the Government Media Cell announced a government mobilization to facilitate the entry of foodstuffs through five outlets.
    The cell said in a statement, that it "continues to coordinate the government's effort to keep pace with the latest measures taken to supply local markets with the necessary food and agricultural materials, in a manner that meets the citizens' needs of basic materials, and to address the strategic stockpile to confront the high prices, in coordination and joint cooperation, between the ministries of (Agriculture, Trade, The Ministry of Interior, the Border Ports Authority, and the General Customs Authority).
    This comes according to the statement, based on what was stated in Cabinet decisions (70, 72, and 80 for the year 2022), which included a package of decisions that support the Iraqi citizen and meet his need of basic materials,” explaining that “the Border Ports Authority continues to work around the clock. ; To secure the entry of agricultural and food materials through the ports (Shalamcheh in Basra Governorate, Al-Sheeb in Maysan Governorate, Trebil in Anbar Governorate, Zurbatiya in Wasit Governorate, Mandali and Al-Mandhiriya in Diyala Governorate), in joint coordination with the General Authority of Customs, as this coordination contributed to the entry of agricultural materials all".
    And the cell confirmed that “the ministries of agriculture and trade continue to facilitate the process of granting import licenses to traders and importers,” explaining that “the ministry of commerce has started receiving the wheat crop from farmers for the current agricultural season.”
    The cell also stated that “the Ministry of the Interior and the relevant security services continue their periodic inspection tours throughout the governorates; To reduce cases of extortion committed by some weak-minded people by exploiting the crisis.”
