, the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the current political blockage has become a worrying matter, while noting that the disruption of constitutional benefits represents an unacceptable phenomenon.
Saleh said in a speech, during the central celebration of the anniversary of the establishment of the Badr Organization, that "the current political blockage in the completion of constitutional benefits and the formation of a new government, five months after the elections, has become a worrying and unacceptable matter, and if it continues, the country will slip into dangerous mazes."
He added, "There are those who want the Iraqis to be preoccupied with internal conflicts that drain their strength and weaken their entity, and the Iraqis cannot accept that, and they will not give up their right to a national state."
He added, "The early elections, which the people and their national forces wanted, were a solution to achieving political and social stability, but they encountered obstacles that should not be ignored, and it is possible to overcome them with unity of word and give priority to the supreme national interest in this circumstance of complex regional and international transformations."
Saleh stressed, "The disruption of the constitutional benefits from their scheduled dates is a dangerous and unacceptable phenomenon, and it confirms what the Presidency of the Republic went to two years ago in the urgent need for constitutional amendments to items that devoted crises instead of solving them, and distances rather than bring them closer."
