[size=45]The Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, confirmed that the next step to implement the general population census will be the implementation of the pilot census in selected areas of the governorates.
Al-Najm stated, “The ministry’s preparations continue to conduct the general population and housing census in Iraq in the last quarter of next year 2023,” noting that “conducting the population census is an urgent necessity, because it will contribute to addressing many problems related to the distribution of financial resources among the governorates.” according to their exact population size.
He added, "The ministry has addressed all the obstacles that were impeding the implementation of this project, foremost among them the financial aspects," stressing the importance of the role of mobile phone companies in providing coverage for all regions of Iraq in order to ensure, secure and speed transmission. The minister pointed out that "the next step will be to implement the pilot census in selected areas in all governorates, as this step represents great importance in testing our technical, technical and administrative capabilities, and standing on the size of the problems and challenges that will arise, in order to address them before implementing the general census of the population."[/size]
