Yesterday, Tuesday, Muthanna Planning Director Qabel Hammoud confirmed that Al-Muthanna Governorate still recorded the highest poverty rates in the country at 52%.
Hammoud told (Al-Mada), that "Al-Muthanna still records the highest poverty rates among the Iraqi governorates, although it is less densely populated and does not exceed one million people, but it is witnessing widespread unemployment among its youth."
He added, "The governorate needs a fund for reconstruction similar to the governorate of Dhi Qar and the liberated areas to advance its service reality, as it is witnessing a marked decline," explaining that "the governorate's allocations from the emergency support law will turn into service plans and projects in different sectors."
