      Baghdad: Muhannad Abd al-Wahhab

The group of statements and statements made by the independent representatives during the past few days showed a split in their positions, which were relatively harmonious prior to the resignation of the Sadrist bloc’s deputies. While the statements of some independents indicate that they went to the loyalist camp or worked in the next government and supported it; Others stated that they prefer to go to the opposition wing, provided that it has the right requirements, especially in monitoring work.
The independent MP, Hussein Al-Sabri, said in an interview: "After the withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc, the situation became more complicated, and the ball became in the court of the coordination framework for forming the government, and images of political or parliamentary groups and blocs began to become clear with their own demands."
He added that "according to the understandings, the formation of the government will be preceded by a call for a parliamentary session in which the election of the president of the republic will be presented and the largest bloc will be assigned to present the prime minister," noting that "the independent representatives were divided into two parts; The first is going to form the government and ally with it, while the second is with the opposition, parliamentary work and monitoring.”
Noting that "the second part of the independent representatives who want to go towards the opposition, demand the empowered opposition, that is, that positions in the House of Representatives and chairs of committees should be part of the opposition's positive share, because what matters to us is that there be a strong government with the capabilities, and the opposition must be empowered and have the ability to Oversight and correct evaluation of government work.
For his part, the political analyst, Dr. Talib Muhammad Karim, said in an interview: “After the rise of the replacement deputies, we are closer to the stages of government production, and alliances and understandings are continuing, and some matters related to the completion of the formation of the government between the regional government and the federal government regarding oil may be added to it. And gas, oil export, and issues related to the Federal Court and its vision.”
He added, "It is possible that we will hear about the attempts and desires of some MPs, particularly the independents, to submit further resignations, a subject that does not constitute a great harm to the political process and does not contradict the principles of the constitution and does not impede the movement of alliances, given that there are alternatives for the resigned."
On the other hand, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ahmed Al-Harki, said: “The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, arrived in the capital, Baghdad, yesterday, Sunday,” noting that “Talabani has meetings with the coordinating framework and the Alliance of Azm in the house of Hadi Al-Amiri and the house of (Mam). Jalal) to discuss forming the next government.
He added that "proposing names for the position of prime minister is premature," noting that "the meetings will also address the file of the position of the president of the republic."
For his part, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Dana Jaza, said: “His party is not afraid of the coordinating framework controlling the majority, and the coordinating framework’s control of the majority does not mean that our candidate, Reber Ahmed, will lose the presidency.”
He added, "The presidency of the republic is our natural entitlement, and we expect that it will be resolved within the Kurdish House, and the scene of 2018, when the position was decided in Parliament, will not be repeated."
On the other hand, a member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Karwan Anwar, said: “The data in the Kurdish street, especially with the Democratic Party owning the leadership of the government in the region and a position in the presidency of Parliament; Things are moving towards the National Union assuming the position of President of the Republic.”
He added, "The Democratic Party has worked to prolong the understandings in the past period regarding political benefits, but it has realized that the truth cannot be changed, as the position of the President of the Republic is from the National Union's share."
And he indicated that "the balance of power has not changed across the Democratic Party, at a time when the coordination framework has the largest number of deputies, in addition to the fact that the framework supports Barham Salih's assumption of the presidential position."
On the other hand, a member of the Summit Center for Strategic Studies, Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi, said: “The indicators lead to Barham Salih retaining his position as President of the Republic, according to the one-basket system, that is, an agreement to nominate one person for the position.”
He added, "The delay in forming the government was due to the two Kurdish parties' disagreement over the position of President of the Republic, but the negotiations of the Democratic Party with the coordinating framework reached their climax."
