A member of the Coordination Framework, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Thaer Mikheib, revealed that Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi received a list of 180 parliamentary signatures to set a date for a session of the House of Representatives.
Makheif said in a statement followed by “Progress” that “reliance on the legal and constitutional options is the solution to the political blockage, and this matter is manifested by the resumption of the House of Representatives to hold its sessions and proceed with the selection of the President of the Republic and the formation of a new coalition government with full powers.”
He explained that "it is not possible for the current government to continue its work until early elections are held, as the other party wants, because it is a caretaker government according to the constitution and the law, and it does not have the authority to do many things."
He pointed out that "the political crisis is nearing its end after collecting 180 parliamentary signatures from various political blocs and receiving them by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to set a date for a session of the House of Representatives," hoping that "it will be after the end of the fortieth visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him."
