MP Mustafa Sanad expected, today, Thursday, that the voting session on the new government formation will not be held next Saturday.
Sanad said, "According to the current data, it is difficult to hold a voting session on the new government formation the day after tomorrow, Saturday, or until the middle of next week, because negotiations still need more time and there are differences within the components over the ministries assigned to each component."
He added that "the important basic and sovereign portfolios have not been resolved so far, and it was hoped that 14 ministries would be voted on as a first batch, but the differences between the components delayed the decision, and despite that, we expect that a vote on the government will take place before the end of the thirty-day constitutional period."
He added, "The Shiite component will get 12 ministries, the Sunni one will get 6 and the Kurdish one will get 4," noting that "his information indicates that the Shiite component will present (technocrats) candidates for its ministries supported by the blocs, while Sunni and Kurdish political figures will receive some ministries of the two components."
