The deputy for the new generation of parliament, Sargon Shams El Din, revealed, on Saturday (March 20, 2021), a new date for the voting session on the budget, while indicating the most important points of contention regarding it.
Shams El Din said in a statement to the official agency followed by IQNEWS , that "there is a dispute over some budget articles, including internal and external debts and the investment budget," indicating that "some political blocs do not want to give money to new investments so that they are not used as electoral propaganda."
He pointed out that "there is a disagreement on the issue of the debts owed by the farmers," stressing that "there is a proposal to exempt any peasant who pays 50% of his debts."
He added that "there is another disagreement about the provincial shares, including Diyala, Nineveh and Kirkuk, and it was settled through the transfer of funds," noting that "the session for voting on the budget will be held after five in the afternoon."
It is noteworthy that the Presidency of Parliament set today, Saturday, the date for voting on the draft general budget for 2021.
