The Ministry of Commerce identified, on Tuesday, the importance of the Council of Ministers' decision regarding withholding the ration card items for general managers and those who earn a salary of two million dinars or more.
The ministry's spokesman, Muhammad Hanoun, said in an interview with Mawazine News, "The cabinet's decision today regarding withholding the ration card items for those whose salary exceeds two million dinars is a major turning point in supporting a large number of Iraqi families whose salaries exceed one and a half million dinars by a previous decision." from the Cabinet.”
He added, "The Cabinet's decision opened the door to its death to help many families whose salaries are less than two million dinars," and considered it "a good step towards confronting the rise in food prices and the exchange of the dollar."
Hanoun pointed out that "the Ministry of Commerce has taken administrative and technical measures with the aim of securing foodstuffs for the families covered by this decision," describing it as "humanitarian to help families whose salaries are less than two million dinars."
And the Council of Ministers decided, in its meeting held today, Tuesday, to withhold the ration card items from those whose salary exceeds two million dinars.
And the text of the decision stated that, in implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives regarding increasing the segments that benefit from the ration card items, including employees whose salaries were affected due to the high prices in the local market, the Council of Ministers approved the Ministry of Commerce withholding the ration card items from the general managers and those with a higher degree.
