The leader in the coordination framework, Jamal Hassan, confirmed, on Friday, that granting part of the employees’ salaries in dollars is still under study.
Hassan said in a press statement followed by “Yas Iraq”, that “the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar in the Iraqi markets recently is part of an American policy of pressure through the economic paper, and this matter is understood by all political forces and experts in the money file, pointing out that the situation is worrying and may become more difficult with the days.” ".
He added, "There are many solutions proposed to address the dollar exchange rate crisis, most notably granting part of the employees' salaries in dollars, but it is still within the scope of the study, in addition to other solutions, but it takes more time to crystallize a road map that contributes to creating stability in the money market."
The Iraqi markets have been suffering for weeks from strong pressure due to the high exchange rate of the dollar, which led to a remarkable increase in prices on basic commodities.
