The independent representative from Dhi Qar Governorate, Zainab Al-Khazraji, called on the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, to intervene in putting an end to the rampant corruption in the governorate.
Al-Khazraji said, in a statement received by (Baghdad Today), that: "Dhi Qar governorate suffers from widespread corruption in its departments due to the failure of the administration and its inability to implement projects that amounted to more than 157 strategic projects allocated within the Food Security Law," noting, "The value of that The projects amount to 620 billion dinars, but none of them has been signed," she said.
And she emphasized, "The situation remaining as it is in the governorate requires the prime minister to intervene urgently and immediately in dismissing the competent authorities in the governorate that contributed to the destruction of the governorate due to the exemption of competencies and the assumption of corrupt and failed people to run the departments," as she put it.
Al-Khazraji noted that "the director of the province's agriculture and its departments was dismissed, and the position was given to incompetent personalities."
And she stressed, "The silence of the federal government on the rampant corruption in the province is a matter that raises surprise among the deputies of Dhi Qar, who are calling for a change of governor because he is unable to manage the province in the correct way, and the evidence for this is the delay in implementing projects within the Dhi Qar Reconstruction Fund three years ago," she said. .
