Today, Wednesday, President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid discussed with Finance Minister Taif Sami the implementation of appropriate reforms, encouragement of investment opportunities and support for strategic projects.
A statement from his media office stated, "The President of the Republic received Finance Minister Taif Sami at the Baghdad Palace to discuss financial and economic conditions and approve the general budget in a manner that meets the aspirations of citizens."
The President of the Republic stressed "the importance of making appropriate reforms, encouraging investment opportunities and supporting strategic projects, as well as developing and diversifying the sources of the national economy by activating the role of other sectors in a way that contributes to enhancing revenues."
He pointed to "the importance of improving the standard of living of the Iraqi individual and following modern methods of financial management and benefiting from the experiences of developed countries in this field."
In turn, the Minister of Finance reviewed "the procedures followed by the ministry in addressing the economic and financial conditions, and what the current circumstance requires of concerted efforts to overcome the stage and its repercussions on public life."
