Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced the proceeding with ambitious plans to end gas flaring in Iraq, indicating that we are looking forward to sufficiency locally.
Abdul-Ghani told (Baghdad Today) that "we are serious about implementing the government program with regard to gas investment, and the plants to be established and the opening of their initial stages in the coming period, especially those that are being established in Artawi."
And he indicated that "the Basra NGL plant is one of the large plants and uses advanced technology in gas investment and desalination. It invests sweet and sour gas, as it contains two main units, each with a production of 200 million cubic feet per day. The first will be opened at the end of May, while next year will be sufficient to open the second phase." in it".
He continued, "One of the main things in these plants is its high ability to extract liquids. Therefore, this plant and with this energy, we will invest in it 3,600 tons of liquid gas, all of which will be exported abroad, which will contribute to increasing Iraq's position scientifically in the production and export of liquid gas."
The Minister of Oil added, "The gas that will be produced will be of high purity, which will make it a positive gateway because it is used to operate power stations, because it is 99.6% free of liquids."
