Shafaq News/ Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government distanced itself from the discrimination and classism that accompanied the process of distributing salaries in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, vowing to hold those people who did this act accountable.
The ministry stated in a statement today that in the past few days, and during the distribution of the salaries of last March to employees and retirees in banks within the borders of Sulaymaniyah governorate and the two independent districts of Karmian and Rabin, discrimination was made in distributing the salaries of the different classes and according to the large and low salaries and grades, and it was determined distribution time.

The statement added that what has been done is an independent work of the Central Bank of the region / Sulaymaniyah branch, and the Ministry of Finance and Economy is not responsible for it, and the owner of this decision will face legal accountability.
The statement confirmed that the distribution of salaries is according to the schedule announced by the Ministry of Finance, which is published on its official page as was done previously, and with the exception of the Ministry, no one has the right to amend or change the schedule.
Earlier in the day, a source from the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government stated that a committee had been formed to investigate the disappearance of sums of money in the banks of Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
The source told Shafaq News agency that "the committee was formed by the Ministry of Finance to investigate the case of the disappearance of sums of money from Sulaymaniyah banks."
The source added, "The committee started work and summoned three people today to the ministry for investigation."
Since yesterday, Tuesday, employees in Sulaymaniyah province have started a strike due to non-receipt of salaries.
Due to the lack of funds in banks in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, salaries for employees and retirees for the month of March have not been distributed yet.
