The General Company for Iraqi Ports revealed, on Saturday, the date of operating the first phase of the Al-Faw Al-Kabir Port project in Basra Governorate.

The director of the company, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said, in an interview followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, that "the first phase of the Al-Faw Grand Port project will be operated and put into operation by the end of 2025."
Al-Fartousi pointed out, "There is interest and field follow-up from the higher government agencies for the Al-Faw Grand Port project, for the purpose of completing it according to the designs prepared for it."
And he continued, "All parties, whether the port company, the Ministry of Transport, or the Iraqi government, are interested in this project in order to overcome all obstacles and stop the stages of implementation and completion according to designs." End / 25
