Shafaq News/ The Minister of Trade and Industry in Kurdistan Region announced, on Saturday, that the region has received 40 billion Iraqi dinars for marketing the wheat crop from the region's farmers for the current agricultural season.
The Minister of Trade and Industry in Kurdistan Region, Kamal Muslim, said in a press conference held today, which was attended by the Shafaq News Agency correspondent, that the ministry started today to receive the seeds of higher grades of wheat from farmers, adding that the quality of wheat produced for this season is very good, expressing that the Muslim crops To the granaries be as well.
Muslim added, We hope that this year's crop will be better in terms of quantity and quality, indicating that this year differs from previous years to deposit good sums in the account of the Ministry of Commerce in Erbil to receive crops in the three governorates and we seek to deliver the sums of money to farmers and it will not be more than two weeks late.
Muslim said, "The price of each kilo of wheat, according to the pricing of the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, is 850 Iraqi dinars to the silos of Iraq in general and the silos of Kurdistan," explaining, "Now, more than 40 billion Iraqi dinars are in the banks of Kurdistan."
He continued, "20 billion of them are in the banks of Sulaymaniyah, 10 billion dinars in the banks of Erbil, and 10 billion in the banks of Dohuk," pointing out that the farmers will receive these sums after handing over the wheat to the silos.
For his part, the Director General of Trade in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nawzad Sheikh Kamel, said that the process of receiving wheat from farmers in the silos of the Kurdistan Regional Government has begun and will continue for several days, and the process was scheduled to start last Thursday.
The Ministries of Agriculture and Water Resources in the federal government decided to receive 375 thousand tons of wheat from the Kurdistan Region this year, 120 thousand tons of wheat in Erbil, 113 thousand tons in Dohuk and 142 thousand tons in Sulaymaniyah.
