The economic expert, Abd al-Rahman al-Mashhadani, considered that the continued disruption of the export of the Kurdistan region's oil has negative effects and a great loss on the Iraqi economy, while stressing that the export file has taken on a political character.
Al-Mashhadani said in a press interview seen by “Takadum” that “the decision of the International Court in Paris to stop exporting the region’s oil via Turkey was to oblige the region to export oil under the supervision of the central government and the national SOMO company,” pointing out that “the continuation of not resuming the export of the Kurdistan region’s oil has repercussions Negativity and a great loss for the Iraqi economy in the near future.
And he continued, "The Kurdistan authorities have indicated on more than one occasion their insistence on not handing over oil revenues to 400,000 barrels per day," pointing out that "the export file and the delivery of the region's oil revenues took on a more political than economic nature."
