    [size=45]The Ministry of Planning called for the enactment of a law to regulate and combat food waste and encourage its redistribution, recycling and donation, calling for promoting sustainable agriculture and industry, increasing agricultural production, improving nutrition, and achieving food security.[/size]
    [size=45]The ministry said in a statement that it “held, today, Wednesday, a workshop that dealt with the reality of food security in Iraq and the initiative to eradicate hunger in the Arab region, which included a presentation by the head of the sustainable development department in the Department of Regional and Local Development (Aseel Adel Fattah) about her participation in the committee meeting.” Sub-Zero to End Hunger”.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement pointed out the presentation of "two research papers: one on the reality of food security in Iraq, and the second on indicators of hunger in Iraq, while the Department of International Cooperation presented a summary of the eight meetings held by the sub-committee of the Arab League on hunger eradication."[/size]
    [size=45]The workshop called for “promoting sustainable agriculture and industry, increasing agricultural production, improving nutrition, achieving food security, as well as enacting a law to regulate and combat food waste and encourage its redistribution, recycling and donation and measuring its legislative impact while activating studies and research to explore cultural and social aspects, the importance and availability of data, and create Accessible database, as well as support and promotion of regional funds.[/size]
    [size=45]The workshop also recommended “providing the necessary funding to develop capacities in the field of eliminating hunger, reducing waste and loss, and working with international partners.”[/size]
