    The Tourism and Investment Conference in the Kurdistan Region, which was held over the past two days in the city of Erbil, concluded its work and activities with several recommendations, most notably providing the necessary support and facilities to investors in working on implementing projects in the region.
    During the conference, a group of companies, businessmen, and representatives of tourism and investment institutions in the region met during the days (5-6) of this September in the city of Erbil, under the auspices of the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah.
    A statement issued by Abdullah's office stated that the latter presented his vision of needs, requirements and ideas that enhance partnerships and cooperation to facilitate the path of investment in multiple sectors.
    According to the statement, after a number of discussion sessions and side meetings between the guests and representatives of the institutions of the region, and the challenges and opportunities that were presented in them, and the results that resulted in the pursuit of ideas and defining the path that serves development in the region and facilitates the work of investors and capital, the participants reached a set of recommendations as follows:
    1- Participants believe that the Kurdistan Region represents a promising and safe investment environment capable of attracting capital to achieve fair returns.
    2- Emphasizing the desire to establish a platform (facilitation and interconnection), to be a mediator and gateway for access to the investment opportunities offered and everything related to “visa” issues and laws, and to link with tourism and investment institutions in the region.
    3- Work to overcome obstacles and reduce bureaucracy to be more flexible and streamlined and motivate investors to enter as a partner in supporting development in the Kurdistan Region.
    4- Emphasis on reviewing tax systems and increasing incentives for investors.
    5- Emphasis on partnerships between local and foreign capital.
    6- Emphasis on developing the policies, mechanisms and work systems of Iraqi banks to create appropriate flexibility and guarantees for financial and credit work.
    7- Emphasis on partnerships in developing the human capital of tourism and investment institutions through human development courses.
    8- Emphasis on continuing to hold periodic investment conferences for deliberation and exhibitions to offer available opportunities and coordination between specialized and interested parties.
    9- Invite the regional government to prepare geological studies of the soil in cooperation with research centers and universities in the region to identify the extractive foci of minerals and offer them as investment opportunities.
    10- We also call on the regional government to open an investment window to speed up administrative procedures for investors easily.
    11- Any other recommendations proposed by the attendees to be added can be submitted in writing to the conference organizers.
    Last Tuesday, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, called on Iraqi investors in the field of tourism to implement projects in the governorates of the Kurdistan Region.
    This came in his speech during the launch of the activities and activities of the Tourism and Investment Conference in Kurdistan, which was held in the city of Erbil.
    Al-Badrani said in the speech, "I invite investors in all Iraqi provinces in the field of tourism to invest in the Kurdistan Region," adding that the Kurdistan provinces of Erbil, Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah will remain a destination for Iraqi and foreign tourists.
