    The Social Protection Authority in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced today, Thursday, the registration of the largest number of those included in the social protection network as individuals, while indicating that the data of those included has been sent to the Ministry of Commerce for the purpose of completing the cutting and distribution procedures for the food basket.
    The head of the authority, Ahmed Khalaf, told the official agency, followed by “Al-Eqtisad News,” that “the number of those covered by social protection as of this month has reached 7 million and 600 thousand individuals, which is the largest number reached by inclusion as individuals in social protection, as approximately 480 thousand were added.” An individual from October until now within social protection, especially for added children,” stressing that “this comes as a result of the social services provided by the current government, the outcome of the directives of the Prime Minister, and the efforts of the Authority.”
    Khalaf added, “The data on those included was sent to the Ministry of Commerce for the purpose of completing the procedures for cutting and distributing the food basket,” noting that “the numbers of food baskets distributed since the formation of the government until now are duplicated and will reach more than 80 million food baskets distributed among social protection personnel.” In addition to the improvements that have occurred to the food basket in terms of additional materials, the person covered by social protection receives an additional secondary basket.”
    He continued, "The Social Protection Authority sends the data to the Ministry of Commerce through networking for the third month, where it is transmitted electronically, skipping the stage of sending the data via disks," stressing, "continuing to add new children to inclusion in the social protection network."
    He pointed out that "the Ministry of Commerce completed the cutting operations and began the distribution operations for the food basket for the months of February and March, as we completed all the data for those included and sent it to the Ministry of Commerce."
