“Fear for Al-Aqsa” in Baghdad and a stand of solidarity in Erbil

Yesterday, Sunday, the House of Representatives voted on the decisions to discuss the brutal bombing of the Gaza Strip and the siege imposed on it, which stipulated condemnation of the policy of the usurping Zionist entity in killing, displacing and demolishing homes and affirmed the right of the Palestinians to defend their land and their usurped rights. .
The Council called on the government to take measures to support and provide relief to the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, and to invite the sister Arab parliaments to hold an emergency session of the Union of Arab Parliaments in Baghdad to take a position consistent with the will of the Arab peoples, and to demand that the United Nations work immediately to open outlets for the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. And calling on the Security Council to assume its responsibility by taking what is necessary to stop the escalation, killing and displacement against the Palestinian people, and opening official outlets for governmental and non-governmental donations and contributions to support and assist the Palestinian people, and affirming Iraq’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state and full sovereignty over their lands.
Meanwhile, the General Command of the Armed Forces announced the direct receipt of humanitarian aid scheduled to be sent to Palestine.
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, said in a statement, “Humanitarian aid will be delivered to the Palestinian people, 24 hours a day.”
According to the statement, this step comes in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, regarding the formation of a joint committee to deliver donations and humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza.
The statement added, "This campaign is being conducted under the title (Iraqi Fear for Al-Aqsa)," indicating that "citizens' reception centers for the purpose of receiving aid are (the Air Defense Command headquarters opposite Abbas Ibn Firnas, the Great Prophet's Complex, in the Adhamiya area, and the central markets in the municipalities."
In addition, it is hoped that Iraq will participate in the coming weeks in the conference of Arab and international parliaments held in Angola in support of the Palestinian cause.
A member of the House of Representatives from the “Ishraqa Canon” bloc, Bassem Al-Gharabi, stated to “Al-Sabah” that “in the coming weeks there will be a gathering of Arab parliaments.” And the international conference in Angola is being held by the Islamic Action Organization, and there will be participation by the Iraqi parliament,” calling for “investing Iraq’s presidency of the Arab Parliament in order to mature practical positions that contribute to ending the suffering of our Palestinian people as a result of the occupation’s aggression, through diplomatic work with influential countries.” For his part, he said

Member of the House of Representatives, Dakhel Radi, in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “What is happening today in terms of killing, displacement, and destruction of Palestinians amounts to war crimes against humanity, and the House of Representatives denounced in the previous session these heinous crimes, and there must be a way to deliver donations and aid.” For the besieged Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Consulate in the city of Erbil witnessed a solidarity stand against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in the presence of the Palestinian community and a number of social and political figures.
The Palestinian Consul General in Erbil, Nazmi Al-Hazouri, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “This protest in the presence of the Palestinian community in the city is in solidarity with the Palestinian people who are facing the fiercest attack by the Zionist entity, which committed bloody massacres against thousands of Palestinian civilians,” indicating that “The situation is very difficult in Gaza and it will be catastrophic if the continuous bombing and violence continue and the humanitarian conditions in the Strip continue,” he pointed out, “and the Israeli occupation forces are continuing their brutal and barbaric aggression and continuing their raids on populated areas.”
