    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq Today:

The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee called on the Iraqi government to take quick diplomatic action to stop Turkey’s “blatant” interference in Iraq, against the backdrop of the Turkish Parliament’s approval of a presidential memorandum to extend the tasks of the Turkish army in Iraq for an additional two years.[/rtl]
[rtl]Committee member Waad Al-Qaddo said in a press interview, “The Turkish Parliament’s approval and extension of the presence of Turkish forces on Iraqi and Syrian lands is considered a blatant interference in Iraqi affairs, in addition to being a clear and frank occupation of Iraqi lands.”[/rtl]
[rtl]During his speech, Qaddo called for quick diplomatic action by the Iraqi government, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicating that “this action must be at the highest levels, and to put great pressure on Turkey, from all sides, to stop it from these blatant interventions in Iraq.”[/rtl]
[rtl]He continued, "There are more than 83 Turkish military barracks on Iraqi territory, penetrating a distance of more than 180 kilometers. This constitutes a clear and clear violation of Iraqi autonomy first, and is tantamount to an occupation of Iraqi territory."[/rtl]
[rtl]He stressed that “this matter is rejected within international law, international conventions, and the UN Security Council, in addition to that the Iraqi people are considered to have the final say and decision on this matter,” as he put it.[/rtl]
