[rtl]The Communications and Media Commission issued 4 decisions regarding Korek, including stopping the sale of new SIM cards.
The Authority explained in a press statement, “Based on the expiration of Korek Company’s license on August 30, 2022, the judicial decisions issued by the competent courts, the decisions of the Authority’s Board of Commissioners, and the large sums of money owed by the company and its failure to pay these amounts until this moment despite all the negotiations and dialogues that took place.” It took place with the company. We would like to inform Iraqi public opinion of the following:
First - The Communications and Media Authority directed to stop the sale and trading of any new SIM cards belonging to Korek Communications Company.
Second - The Authority calls on honorable citizens not to buy any new SIM cards belonging to Korek Company.
Third - The Authority confirms the agents and points of sale: Do not sell or trade any new SIM cards for the company, otherwise they will be subject to legal accountability.
Fourth - We announce to the public opinion that the Communications and Media Commission is in the process of severing the interconnection between Korek Telecom and the mobile phone companies operating in the country within ten days from the date of this statement, until the company fulfills its obligations.
