    The Ministry of Planning, on Tuesday, that the percentage of import operations for 2013 rose to more than 6% from the previous year, while confirming that the total import of petroleum products, non-commodity for last year amounted to 4.9 billion dinars for the products non-oil merchandise 28.5 billion dollars.

    He said the ministry spokesman Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi said in an interview for "Alsumaria News", that "the total import of the material goods and petroleum products for 2013 amounted to 33.4 billion dollars, registering an increase of 6.6% for 2012, which amounted to import a 24.4%."

    Hindawi said that "the overall import of petroleum products non-commodity for 2013 amounted to 4.9 billion dinars, registering a decline for the year 2012 that the percentage of import in which the products 5.3 billion dollars," adding that "the proportion of import products non-oil merchandise for 2013 amounted to 28.5 billion dollars, registering a rise for the year 2012, where the figure was 19.1 billion dollars. "

    Depends Iraq to meet the needs of local import from abroad, which constitutes nearly 90% as a result of the stoppage of most transaction its factories because of looting that followed in 2003, which did not play successive governments to restore life to these plants to faith in the absolute necessity of the transition towards a market economy and the need to adopt this laboratories in the same run, while Iraq is still imported some petroleum products like gasoline to meet the local need as well gas oil to run power stations.
