    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah 
    An informed source in the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government revealed, today, Tuesday (October 31, 2023), the date for disbursing the salaries of employees in the region.
    The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the Ministry of Finance has completed all data and figures regarding employee salaries for the eighth month of the current year."
    He added, "It is expected that Rafidain Bank will send an amount of 250 billion dinars tomorrow, Wednesday, as a first installment of the amount of 700 billion agreed upon between the federal government and the regional government."
    The source indicated, "Once the amount of 250 billion is reached, the Ministry of Finance will announce a schedule for disbursing employee salaries in Kurdistan, starting with employees of the Ministry of Peshmerga and then the rest of the ministries and institutions."
    The Council of Ministers had approved, in mid-September, sending three batches to Kurdistan to pay salaries to employees in the region at a rate of 700 billion dinars for each batch, for a total of more than 2 trillion dinars.
    The regional government distributed the first batch during the current month as salaries for the month of July, while it is hoped that the salaries for the remaining months will arrive gradually until the end of the year.
    The Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Awat Sheikh Janab, who visited Baghdad earlier, accompanied by a delegation from the Kurdistan Government, confirmed the existence of a joint understanding with the federal government to address the issue of salaries of the region’s employees, and keep it away from political differences.
