    Today, Sunday (November 5, 2023), the leader of the Victory Coalition, Aqeel Al-Rudaini, outlined the features of the relationship between Baghdad and Washington in light of the recent developments following the events in Gaza, while indicating that those who bomb the American bases in Iraq are not accountable to the government or any official party.
    Recently, the Iraqi factions launched missile attacks on US forces' bases in Syria, the most recent of which was an attack on the Kharab al-Jir base in eastern Syria last Friday, coinciding with the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip.
    Al-Rudaini said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The position of America and its Western allies regarding the events in Gaza is clear, and the United States has open options to contain the crisis or push it to expand throughout the Middle East, but everything is possible in a complex and difficult situation."
    He added, "The position of the Iraqi government rejects the bloodshed taking place in Gaza, but at the same time it is against any actions that lead to the bombing of any bases deep inside Iraq, and the relationship with Washington is still good despite the difference with its positions regarding the events in Gaza and other issues, with reference to the importance of maintaining the diplomatic track." "In its normal state."
    Al-Rudaini pointed out that “those who bombed American bases were not held accountable by the government, any official body, or the armed forces, and the bombing was an expression of the state of anger that emerged due to the tragic events in the Palestinian territories, and Washington must understand that the wave of anger is not in Baghdad, but rather in most Arab and Islamic countries.” .
    He continued, "Washington spoke more than once that it would respond to the attacks targeting its bases in Iraq and Syria, but so far things are stable, noting that some diplomatic bodies have begun to reduce the number of their employees, and this matter is not in the interest of Iraq, which is coming to reconstruction projects and requires a situation in which its relationship Good with international countries, pointing out the need for Washington to understand the abnormal conditions in the region and that the bombing that is taking place is from non-governmental parties, and most importantly, the government’s opinion is to maintain a good relationship with Washington without any harm to diplomatic headquarters and missions.”
    Iraqi military bases where American forces and forces from the international coalition are present as advisors and trainers were subjected to attacks with missiles and drones after the outbreak of the ongoing war between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings on the seventh of last October.
