    The insurance sector has seen activity in Iraq over the past year through improved growth rates achieved in insurance premiums and net profits for the company as well as the National Insurance technical reserves for growth in 2012.
    In this regard, said Director General of the National Insurance Company Sadiq Fadhil Silverline, said his company is seeking to diversify wrap the insurance to serve the community and to preserve the national wealth of the country, stressing that the efforts of the staff of the company yielded record revenues of 145 billion and a million and 78 299 thousand dinars during the past year compared to revenues of 108 billion and 642 million and 304 thousand dinars in 2012, an increase of 33 percent.
    He Silverline told (morning) that these figures were the result of policy underwriting sober and investment balanced despite the intense competition for companies civil, adding that the company will continue to provide its services the insurance for the various sectors in addition to expanding the company's portfolio of investment through the exploitation of the available investment opportunities and the advancement of their level as befits Arab and international reputation.
    And cited the annual report of National Insurance Company for the financial year 2013 insurance premiums amounted to 126 billion and 87 million and 773 000 dinars, compared to the year 2012 premiums of $ 92 billion and 583 million and 819 000 dinars, an increase of 36 percent. Adding that the company's net profit amounted to 14 billion and 845 million and 609 000 dinars, compared to last year's earnings amounted to 12 billion and 767 million and 668 000 dinars in 2012, an increase of 16 percent.
    The report noted that the total technical reserves amounted to 120 billion last year and 727 million and 371 000 dinars, compared to reserves amounted to 89 billion and 282 million and 544 000 dinars during 2012, an increase of 35 percent.
    The report said that the most prominent obstacles faced by the National Insurance Company is the reluctance of producers for engineering insurance because of a lack of (commission) in addition to leak many processes the insurance to competitors in the market for lack of commitment to prices set by the court, stressing that the work in the offices, the border was also affected because of the circumstances experienced by the region, as well as non reconsider law No. 10 of 2005 the private insurance business, which carries a lot of gaps, which led to the failure to protect Iraqi funds and private government of leakage to the outside.
