Yesterday, Sunday, the Ministry of Communications directed the companies implementing fiber optic networks not to erect poles in front of citizens’ homes, at a time when it observed an increase in the number of subscribers to optical cable services in Karkh to 180 thousand.

The Ministry explained, in a statement, that the Minister of Communications, Hayam Al-Yasiri, issued strict directives to the companies implementing optical fiber projects connecting homes to preserve the comfort of citizens and not harass them at home by not erecting poles in front of homes.
According to the statement, the directives included not erecting poles for these projects in front of residential homes, lands belonging to citizens, government buildings, etc., provided that the erection of poles should be in front of the border separating residences, calling on citizens to inform the Citizens Affairs Department of any cases violating this directive so that the necessary action can be taken. In this regard.
In this context, the Director of the Baghdad Al-Karkh Communications Directorate, Mustafa Jawad Kazem, told Al-Sabah that an increase in the number of subscribers to optical cable services in the Al-Karkh areas of the Directorate had been observed, reaching 180,000 subscribers by the end of last year, noting the Directorate’s efforts to include the largest number of subscribers to cable services. Lighting during the current year, especially after the opening of the same project in the areas of Doura, Ghazaliya and Al-Salam.
He added that the technical teams completed the maintenance work on the optical cables for the areas of Yusufiyah, Al-Nasr and Al-Salam, explaining that this year’s plan includes clear and major coordination with state institutions to remove congestion conflicts within projects to relieve traffic congestion in Baghdad and in coordination with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities.
